Usage Note 44090: SAS® Web Report Studio export capability enables users to export reports and export data from individual objects
Overview
By default, users who are assigned the Output:Export capability can perform the following exporting tasks in SAS Web Report Studio:
- export the entire report as a ZIP file that contains XLS, HTML, and image files.
- export data from a specific table or graph in various formats including XLS, XLSX, and delimited formats.
You cannot selectively choose which export task to enable.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue for SAS Web Report Studio 4.3. If you are using SAS Web Report Studio 4.3_M1 or later, then the property described below is available without a hot fix.
Disabling the Ability to Export an Entire Report
SAS Web Report Studio supports a property named wrs.capabilities.disableExportReport. When this property is set to true, users with the Output:Export capability can export data from only tables and graphs. The Export option on the File menu and the Export toolbar button are removed from the application so that users cannot export the entire report.
To use this property, follow these steps in SAS® Management Console.
- On the Plug-ins tab, select Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► Web Report Studio 4.x.
- Right-click and select Properties to open the Web Report Studio 4.x Properties dialog box.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Add to open the Define New Property dialog box.
- For the Property Name, enter wrs.capabilities.disableExportReport
- For the Property Value, enter true
- Click OK twice to exit both dialog boxes and save the changes.
- Restart your web application server to enforce the new setting.
